TNR Completes Trench Sampling in Preparation for September Drilling Program.
Triple Nine Resources Ltd. of Stephenville, NL advises that it has now completed the continuous channel sampling of bedrock exposed in a series of 12 trenches during excavator work completed in July. The trench sites were established on the basis of positive surface prospecting and ground geophysics results obtained since September 2009, and are focused over a 3 km section of a much longer 6 km zone detected during a June 2010 airborne survey. More than 1,100 metres of trenching have successfully exposed extensive bedrock mineralization.
Sampling from continuous rock saw cut channels in the bedrock has yielded more than 300 rock samples weighing approximately 1,900 kg (4,200 lbs), which are being sent for assaying to Actlabs at Ancaster, Ontario. During the channel sampling of the trenches, which range up to 205 metres in length, widespread mineralization was encountered with many sections of heavily disseminated to massive magnetite mineralization occurring in layers throughout the anorthosite intrusion, host to the mineralization.
Company Vice President Vic French, P.Geo. who is the onsite Project Manager, has been advised by Actlabs that assay results will be available in early September. The final results of the Airborne Electromagnetic Survey completed by Fugro Airborne Surveys in June will also be available at this time and this large database of surface and airborne results will be valuable in directing the Four Corners Project Drilling Program scheduled for September. This program consisting of 1,000 metres of drilling and representing the first phase of drilling on this significant project has been awarded to Zenith Drilling of Baie Verte, NL.
Triple Nine also has completed the permanent, onsite base camp setup, which includes a fully integrated exploration camp complete with core shed. This camp located along the Burgeo Highway at the north end of Keating Hill will facilitate the ongoing exploration work on the Four Corners Project.
