Early Exploration Results Highly Encouraging for the Four Corners Project
Stephenville based junior mining company Triple Nine Resources Ltd. reports the airborne electromagnetic survey, surface sampling and trenching work on the Four Corners Project (FCP) carried out in June have all encountered highly positive results summarized as follows.
Last week the company received a preliminary set of maps and digital data from Fugro Airborne Surveys of Mississauga, Ontario showing strong magnetic responses outlining the area of vanadium – titanium enriched magnetite mineralization. Both the size of the area and the intensity of the magnetite responses have increased significantly compared to the results obtained during early ground surveys carried out in late 2009 and early 2010. Fugro advises a final interpretation report and set of maps further detailing these highly positive results obtained from their high resolution magnetic and electromagnetic surveys will be delivered in early August.
Also received last week from Activation Laboratories of Ancaster, Ontario were the assay results from the resumption of surface prospecting in June. Thirty (30) samples from new outcrop locations along a 4 km section of the mineralized zone further confirm the strong magnetite, vanadium and titanium mineralization encountered during earlier work programs. Assay results for these 3 principal metals all show a range of values within economic grades, and compared to earlier results show a higher range of values. For example vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) in all 30 samples ranged between 0.091 and 0.355% with most of the values grading above 0.205% V2O5. Many of the total iron (magnetite) assays were above 35% ranging up to a highest value to date of 59.55% and titanium oxide (TiO2) ranged between 8.02 and 16.59% (also highest values to date) in over 50% of the samples.
The company has completed approximately 1,000 metres (3500 feet) of mechanized trenching carried out by a local excavator contractor. Ten (10) trench locations over a 3 km section of the mineralized zone have uncovered intense, up to massive, sections of magnetite – titanium – vanadium mineralization. Detailed channel sampling, which will produce an estimated 500 to 600 surface samples, will commence next week.
TNR Chairman Len Muise notes this early success in achieving highly positive results from 3 separate phases of exploration work is a strong indication of the potential to discover a large mineral resource. He further reports that the trailer base camp is onsite and being prepared to serve as the main operating base for the ongoing exploration program, which includes a planned September drilling program. Mr. Muise observes the large, highly positive database being generated by the airborne and surface surveys will ensure high priority targets for the autumn drilling program.
Over the next few weeks results from the ongoing exploration program, as they become available, will be posted on the company website at www.triplenineresources.com
